My life has not always been peaches and cream. It still isn’t, but everyday I am grateful for every new chance, and every new opportunity that is given to me. I am slowly and surely working on becoming a better version of myself, for myself!
A moment that I felt most satisfied in life, was when I went back to school for my H.S Diploma. You see, I was one of those rebellious teens, one of those hard-headed ass teens, and I dropped out my 12th grade year. My dumb ass, right!? Shaking my head! I just wanted to be free and do what I wanted to do! That was a stupid move, I know! That didn’t stop me from running away from responsibility at all.
At that time I honestly didn’t care, but deep down I knew that was unacceptable. The crazy part was, I loved school, and I was very intelligent. I just wanted to be hot in the ass, while following behind the wrong people. After a while, even though it took me some time, I decided that I must have my diploma. I didn’t want a GED (not that there is anything wrong with it ), but I knew what I wanted my H.S diploma and I should have had it!
Luckily, the H.S that I attended offered alternative studies, outside of the actual high school, that would allow me to have my diploma! I was way to excited. So, when I did the assessment, they told me that in order to graduate I had five courses that I must complete in order to be eligible for graduation/diploma. I agreed to there terms and got to work. I screwed up once, and I wasn’t about to screw up again.
I was ashamed at first because I was afraid of what people would say about me, but as time progressed, and I got closer and closer to being finished, I honestly didn’t care. I didn’t care what people thought because at least I did it, and I succeeded. I was so proud and satisfied with my final grades, and not giving up on myself. I was so proud that even though I was two years late on graduating, I still was able to receive my high school diploma! Okkuurrrr! (* in my Cardi B voice*)
There is nothing in life that we can not do. If we want it bad enough we will get there, no matter how long it takes! Just make sure you always keep hope, and keep the faith. Sometimes we may get a little discouraged, but remain ten toes down, and keep pushing. You can do it!
