Lately, I’ve been playing with resin. And when I say playing, I mean making something I love one day and staring at a mold the next day wondering, “What in the world happened here?” 😂
I tried using plastic wrap to make a textured effect. In my head, it was going to look amazing. In real life, the plastic started pulling up the resin, and the whole thing became an oopsy. I let it cure anyway, called it trash, and decided I’d try again tomorrow.
That last part is new for me.
I have a lot of ideas. I’m making things, figuring out my shop, working on this blog, and trying to make room for the rest of my life. Sometimes I get excited and want to be good at everything immediately. Then I remember I’m learning. Of course some of it is going to look a mess first.
Starting Sincerely Bonita feels a little like pouring that resin. I have a picture in my mind of what I want this space to become, but I won’t know exactly how to make it until I keep showing up and trying things. Some posts might be deep. Some might just be me telling you about the project I messed up and the one I can’t wait to try next.
I think I’m okay with that. Actually, I think I might enjoy it.
So if you’re new at something too, tell me what you’re trying. And if your first attempt was an oopsy, I would especially love to hear about it. We can be beginners together. 💜
